Me, My Life and Make Up

Hi! My name is Precious Medina-Antunez and I have been a freelance make up artist since 2008. That makes me almost 8 years in the industry.

I went to Poveda for highschool and UA&P for college. I failed Calculus 3 times and never understood why I had to learn it in the first place. After surviving college, I flew to Los Angeles to study make up in Make Up Designory, Burbank. I got an apartment across school, made a lot of friends and went to class every single day for almost a year. I passed all my homework, did all my research and rejoiced in happiness when I finally got my diploma. I packed my bags and flew back to Manila to try and see what I could do with my passion for make up.

I accepted every project that came my way, whether it paid small or smaller. I did a lot of movies, teleseryes, commercials, magazines shoots, prints ads and noontime shows like Party Pilipinas of GMA7 and ASAP of ABS-CBN. I did all those for 4 years until one day, I got an inquiry for bridal make up and that was the beginning of my career in the bridal industry.

This blog will be about my #preciousbride who I’ve had the pleasure to work with and product reviews that I hope can help everyone with their daily make up purchases. I will also share my journey as a freelance make up artist and give some tips and words of encouragement for those thinking about pursuing make up as well – it’s fulfilling, I promise!

When I’m not busy doing make up, I spend as much time as I can with my husband Mikel. He is my source of inspiration, my rock and soulmate. I love him more than I love make up. And you know I love make up a lot!

On Sundays, when I don’t have weddings, Mikel and I have lunch with my family and dinner with his. We love both our families very much and look forward to our weekly activities with them.

I also enjoy my time with my girls and they occupy a huge place in my heart. They are strong independent women who I draw courage and wisdom from. They are my angels here on earth.

Last but not the least, is my dog Amber. I think I spend at least an hour a day with her. Sometimes she watches me do make up on my clients at my studio at home. She’s very sweet and quiet and approves of all my work. And no, she’s not fat she’s just fluffy.

I guess that’s it. I don’t really have an exciting extraordinary life but I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it 🙂
